Sephaku Cement has entered into a turnkey supply agreement with Sinoma International Engineering Company Ltd for the establishment of a 2.2 million ton per annum cement producing facility in the Lichtenburg district, North West Province. Included in the turnkey agreement is a 1.2 million ton per annum cement grinding facility in Delmas, Mpumalanga.
Initial construction activities have commenced and both facilities are scheduled to be in full production by end 2013.
ASH
Sephaku Cement has secured a long term agreement with Eskom for the supply of coal ash, which is used extensively in cement manufacture and concrete products.
This has led to the formation of Sephaku Ash, a division of Sephaku Cement, that will beneficiate and market fly ash products to both Sephaku Cement and the retail sector.
To this end Sephaku Ash has built an ash beneficiation plant at Kendal Power Station which is in full production, supplying the market with both classified fly ash also known as SMARTASH, and unclassified ash, known as HARDASH.
